Intelligent anti-dry technology, another layer of insurance for kitchen safety!

May 22,2023

Gas stoves can be said to be the most core product in household kitchen appliances. Under the background of consumption upgrading, the emerging kitchen appliance industry including gas stoves is ushering in rapid development. The demand for "smart safety" of gas stoves is becoming more and more obvious, and the "anti-dry burning" function has become a major pain point.

In terms of safety improvement, intelligent anti-dry burning technology has also been more and more applied. Once the anti-dry burning sensor detects abnormal temperature, it will automatically cut off the gas supply, thereby reducing the risk of fire caused by dry burning. Relevant survey data also show that the popularization and use of anti-dry sensors have reduced fires caused by stove dry-burning by 70%.

For China, the characteristics of Chinese cooking and eating habits determine that China is a big country in the use of gas stoves. At present, the penetration rate of anti-dry heating technology in China is also gradually increasing, and it has become the standard configuration of high-end cooker products.

From an international point of view, Japan has introduced relevant policies since 2005, requiring that cookers must be equipped with anti-dry sensors from 2008; South Korea mandated that cookers have anti-dry functions in 2011.

What is anti-boil dry?
The anti-dry technology actually uses temperature control sensors and thermistors to sense, with real-time temperature monitoring, and its core component is the anti-dry burner.

Compared with the traditional burner, the difference of the anti-dry burner is that the burner is equipped with a temperature sensor, which measures the temperature of the bottom of the pot and compares it with the preset temperature threshold (for example, 270°C). As long as the bottom temperature of the pot is higher than 270°C, it is judged that dry burning occurs; or collect temperature information for a period of time, calculate the temperature change rate during this period, and automatically select the threshold for starting the anti-dry function according to the temperature change rate. As long as the temperature change at the bottom of the pot is higher than the threshold, it is judged that dry burning occurs, and then the gas source is cut off to prevent combustion.

Strong corrosion resistance

Compared with the relative hysteresis of ordinary probe contact temperature measurement, the anti-dry sensor made of infrared sensor technology uses a non-contact method to detect the temperature of the bottom of the pot, making the temperature measurement more sensitive and rapid. Not only that, for the traditional anti-dry cooking, only iron pots are recognized, and it is not sensitive to the bottom of pots made of special materials such as casserole pots and enamel pots. The non-contact temperature measurement can match the corresponding compensation program according to the actual measured temperature data of different pot bottom temperatures, so that the cooker responds more accurately and quickly.

In terms of kitchen safety, Winsen Technology provides flammable gas detection, carbon monoxide detection, burnt odor detection, particulate matter detection and other home appliance sensor solutions for multiple scenarios. The launch of the new anti-dry detection module adds another layer of insurance to the kitchen safety, and protects the kitchen safety in an all-round way at all times!
