Why do we need air quality sensors?

Air quality sensors are often used to monitor the concentration of pollutants in the air and are an important part of air purifiers and fresh air systems. It mainly monitors the temperature, humidity, air pressure, light, PM2.5, PM10, TVOC and other values in the air, as well as oxygen, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, formaldehyde and other gas concentrations.

Experts found that there are more than 500 kinds of volatile organic compounds in indoor air, including more than 20 kinds of carcinogens and more than 200 kinds of pathogenic viruses. Indoor air pollution has become an "invisible killer" that endangers human health.

Question

What are the applications of air quality sensors in vehicle air purifier systems?

Answer

The core of the air purification system in the car is the air purifier. Air purifier, also known as "air cleaner", refers to the ability to adsorb, decompose or convert various air pollutants (generally including PM2.5, dust, pollen, odor, formaldehyde and other decoration pollution, bacteria, allergens, etc.) .

Step 1: Its working principle is to monitor the air quality and smell in the car in real time through a sensor. When the system detects that the air pollution in the car exceeds the standard, the system will first order the air conditioning system to use the external circulation to inhale fresh air. After fresh air is inhaled, it passes through a filter made of grape seed polyphenols to filter out pollen, odors and some allergens.

Step 2: The humidity sensor located inside the rearview mirror of the car adjusts the dehumidification mode of the air conditioner by detecting the fog in the window to avoid the air being too dry. This function can only monitor the humidity and adjust the dehumidification mode of the air conditioner, and does not have a humidification function.

Step 3: The filtered fresh air comes to the lower part of the center console through the air duct, which is equipped with a fragrance device of green leaf ethanol and fragrant wood spice. It will melt into the air some natural aromas of trees and green leaves.

Step 4: When the air reaches the air outlet of the air conditioner, the negative ion generator produces a large amount of negative ions and mixes them into the air. Finally, according to the amount of sunlight and the temperature outside the car, the system imitates the flow pattern and frequency of natural wind to blow air into the cabin, creating a comfortable feeling of walking through the forest.

In addition, if the system detects that the outside air is poor, it will automatically switch to the internal circulation mode like other intelligent automatic air conditioners. However, after the switch, the air conditioner filter element and negative oxygen ion generator can still filter and purify the air in the car. The purpose is to release the driver from the state of excessive tension through the flowing wind and fragrant air, keep the mind clear, and enter a relaxed state with higher concentration and concentration.

In order to cater to the market, major car manufacturers have successively added air purification systems or equipped on-board purifiers to their cars to improve the air quality in the car and improve the user's comfort in car use. The purification system mainly includes two processes of detection and purification. The detection process is generally carried out by carrying odor sensors and PM2.5 sensors to detect the air quality in the car. The purification process generally includes internal circulation ventilation, filter filtration, negative ions and other means.

Question

Air Quality Sensor Considerations

Answer

Exposure to the following environments must be avoided:

In the vapor of volatile silicon compounds; highly corrosive environment; contamination by alkalis, alkali metal salts, halogens; contact with water;

Avoid condensed water as much as possible; long-term high-concentration gas; long-term storage; long-term exposure to extreme environments, vibration, and shock.

Question

What are the common interfering gases in air quality sensors (formaldehyde)?

Answer

General household interference sources are mainly alcohol, toilet water, perfume, cooking, oranges and so on. Chemical sensor cross-interference is inevitable. At present, we have made improvements for anti-alcohol interference.
