Vehicle Air Quality

AQS air quality module protects you from car exhaust pollution

Vehicle exhaust contains hundreds of different compounds, including suspended solids, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides, lead and sulfur oxides. Among them, hydrocarbons (HC) in automobile exhaust are the result of direct emission of unburned or insufficiently burned gasoline in the form of gas. Under the action of ultraviolet light, hydrocarbons also produce an irritating smog containing complex compounds such as ozone, aldehydes, and nitrates. Not only irritate human eyes and upper respiratory mucosa, but also cause air pollution.

Although the three-way catalytic converter in the automobile exhaust system can convert harmful gases such as carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides from automobile exhaust into harmless carbon dioxide, water and nitrogen through redox. But when the hydrocarbons exceed the purification capacity of the three-way catalytic converter, or the three-way catalytic converter fails, the HC content in the exhaust gas of the car will increase greatly, which is what we call the HC exceeding the standard.

Winsen AQS module

Winsen AQS module

In order to prevent excessive exhaust pollutants from causing harm to the human body, many cars will be equipped with AQS air quality management system, which can monitor the temperature, humidity, air pressure, light, PM2.5, PM10, TVOC and other values in the air outside the car in real time through sensors and the concentration of oxygen (O2), carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), formaldehyde (CH2O), NOx and other gases, the system automatically switches the internal and external circulation of the air conditioner according to the monitored exhaust pollution level, so as to ensure that the air in the car is not polluted by the outside world.

Health and environmental protection has become the main theme of the green development of the automobile industry, and relevant national standards are becoming clearer and stricter. With the gradual maturity of the automobile market, consumers' requirements for automobile quality are also constantly escalating. In the future, the requirements for air quality in the car will become higher, and intelligent detection methods will also become "standard" in the entire automobile industry. ". Winsen vehicle AQS module has been successfully used in many automobile manufacturers and passed the IATF16949 automotive quality management system certification.

Danger! Elevated CO2 concentration in the car

Indoor air quality monitoring needs not only exist in houses, offices, but also in car cabins. The detection of CO2 concentration in the car cabins is very important. In a fully enclosed car, if the initial clean air CO2 concentration is 400ppm, it only takes about 30-60 minutes to rise to the severe lethargy concentration (3000ppm) and then to the serious dangerous concentration (5000ppm).

NDIR CO2 Sensor MH-V1512A

NDIR CO2 Sensor MH-V1512A

The increase of CO2 concentration in the car will cause the drivers to lose concentration and feel tired. The special CO2 sensor for vehicle can monitor the CO2 concentration in the car in real time, and cooperate with AQS to realize the automatic switching of the internal and external circulation of the air in the car, so as to keep the air in the car fresh.

The vehicle CO2 sensor MH-V1512A designed by Winsen can intelligently cooperate with the automotive air-conditioning system, so that drivers can get a satisfactory driving experience and ensure driving safety.

Car odor: toxic substances mix and match to form a "causing and carcinogenic alliance"

A new car, especially a new one, feels like every part exudes a pungent smell. This kind of car odor mainly comes from the following aspects:

1. The odor of the new car comes from the new car itself

Since all parts of the new car are new, the toxic and harmful gases have not been released long enough, so they will pollute the cab for a long time.

2. From the car interior decoration

The main sources include instrument panels, central controls, seats, etc. The harmful gases they release include benzene, formaldehyde, acetone, xylene etc., which are also very harmful to the human body. The IARC, full name: International Agency for Research on Cancer in June 2004, in its publication No. 153, raised formaldehyde as a class I carcinogen - carcinogen to humans. Benzene is also a class I carcinogen.

3. From the car air conditioner

Because the parts of the new car air conditioner are running in, and the air conditioner ventilation ducts are also plastic. When the air conditioner is used or the cabin is not well sealed, pollutants will enter the car and cause pollution. These pollutants are usually sulfur dioxide, carbon dioxide, etc. and volatilized gasoline.

The odor of new cars mainly includes two aspects: car interior parts odor and VOC pollution.

There are many carriers in the car that may emit a pungent odor, such as: leather and foam in the seats, plastic accessories such as instrument panels and door lining panels, and various adhesives that are widely used in the production process. There are hundreds of volatile organic compounds in these carriers that may be harmful to health, including hydrocarbons, aldehydes, ketones, etc., mainly have benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylene, styrene, formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, Acrolein and other pollutants.

Some of these smells can make people feel nauseated, headache, dizziness, memory loss, insomnia and so on. When the irritating smell in the car reaches a certain level, it will also lead to the "driving syndrome" of the drivers and passengers, and even cause psychological and physical harm to people.

Is the Dust Sensor Wired when Shipped?

Laser dust is wired, infrared dust is not wired.

How to Install and Place the Infrared Dust Sensor?

It must be installed vertically. Keep away from artificial air flow such as fans. When used in air purifiers, the front and rear of the fan cannot be installed. Optionally install it on one side of the shell, but keep vents on the shell to ensure that the external air can diffuse in.

Can the Two Voltages of Mq-7 Exist All the Time, or Do They Need to Be Powered Alternately? if It is an Alternate Power Supply, What is the Appropriate Power Supply Time?

It requires alternate power supply. Please check the information on the product manual. This sensor is powered by 1.5V and 5V alternately. The low temperature and low voltage (1.5V) state can detect CO, and the high voltage (5V) is the desorption process. The recommended 5V voltage duration is 60s, 1.5V voltage duration is 90s to alternately supply power. Since it is a desorption process at 5V, it is normal for the voltage to drop when CO is 150ppm.
